I am a proud spouse of retired US Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Richard Blocker who served 23 years, 1988-2011, as a Commander, Director of Operations, Evaluator/Instructor Electronic Warfare Officer as well as multiple AOC and Headquarters staff positions during his career. He accumulated over 4,300 flight hours including over 480 combat and combat support hours on the B-52G/H and RC-135S/V/W. My husband deployed worldwide throughout his career and assignments at Mather AFB, CA, Castle AFB, CA, K.I. Sawyer AFB, MI, Offutt AFB, NE and Langley AFB, VA. He participated in many contingency conflicts and operations. Post active duty his continues to support the US Air Force as a contractor for the last 11 years with the 361st Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Group and 55th Wing. He is an active member of the 55th Wing Association, an association of veterans of the 55th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing and a 1988 graduate of Virginia Military Institute (VMI) and member of the VMI Alumni Association.
