Sharing in a Historic Moment
Trident Home Loans at the C-2 Sundown
Trident Home Loans was honored to be present at the Sundown of the C-2A Greyhound attended by Marty Medve, Owner of Trident Home Loans, and Marty Sheehan, Loan Originator.
About the Celebration
What Was the C-2 Sundown?
The C-2 Sundown was created as an opportunity for the C-2 community to come together and celebrate the remarkable legacy of the C-2A Greyhound as its more than sixty years of service came to a close.
For decades, the C-2 served as a critical link in Naval Aviation’s logistics chain through its Carrier Onboard Delivery mission. The aircraft carried personnel, mail, supplies, and essential cargo between shore and aircraft carriers at sea.
But the Sundown was about much more than saying goodbye to an aircraft. It brought together Sailors, veterans, families, friends, and members of the C-2 community to recognize the people, relationships, experiences, and traditions that became part of its history.
More than a farewell, the C-2 Sundown was a reunion and celebration of the people who made the Greyhound’s story possible.
The End of an Era
The farewell marked a historic transition for Naval Aviation. Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 40 (VRC-40), the Navy’s final squadron to operate the C-2A Greyhound, was being disestablished after more than six decades of Carrier Onboard Delivery and logistics support to the fleet.
On July 28, 2026, the C-2A Greyhound completed its final flight, officially closing an extraordinary chapter in Naval Aviation history.
For the C-2 community, however, the Sundown was about much more than the retirement of an aircraft. It was an opportunity to reconnect, reflect on decades of shared missions and memories, and recognize the generations of people who helped carry the C-2 mission forward.
For Marty Medve and Marty Sheehan, attending the Sundown gave them the opportunity to share in this historic moment alongside the C-2 community and represent Trident Home Loans in honoring a legacy built on service, responsibility, teamwork, and taking care of one another.

Reflecting on a Legacy of Safety and Service
One of the most meaningful moments of Trident’s participation came when Marty Sheehan had the privilege of taking the podium.
Marty Sheehan reflected on the safety, professionalism, and dedication that defined the C-2 community throughout its years of service. His remarks recognized the extraordinary commitment required from the people who flew, maintained, supported, and worked alongside the aircraft over the course of its history.
He also spoke about something that extends beyond aviation: the importance of taking care of people like family. It was a fitting message for an event centered on a community connected by decades of shared experiences, service, and relationships.

Safety. Professionalism. Dedication.
Values that helped define the C-2 community and the generations of people who carried its mission forward.
A Legacy That Lives On
The Final Flight Was Not the End of the Story
The final flight of the C-2A Greyhound marked the end of an extraordinary chapter in Naval Aviation, but it did not mark the end of its story.
That story lives on through the men and women who flew it, maintained it, supported its mission, and built lifelong friendships and memories along the way. More than sixty years of service created a legacy that extends far beyond the aircraft itself.
Trident Home Loans was truly honored to attend the C-2 Sundown, stand alongside the C-2 community, and share in a moment that meant so much to so many.
To everyone who played a part in the C-2A Greyhound’s remarkable history, thank you for allowing us to be part of this special farewell.
The final flight may be complete, but the memories, the friendships, and the legacy will continue to fly on.
With gratitude from Trident Home Loans
